I am always attracted to business books that sell the simple message that the only thing you have to do is get going. If you’re thinking of doing something new, starting a business or changing your lifestyle to go freelance, you may be put off by a fear of suddenly having to make your own way in life, having to find your own clients and be responsible for everything. Maybe you aren’t sure whether your idea will work and you don’t want to make a mistake.
What if you can be assured that hard work is often all you need. Many bad business ideas have become successful because of the tenacity and dedication of those behind them. Many products that would be laughed out of the Dragon’s Den prove to become successful because their creators know that selling is a numbers game – you knock on enough doors and you get sales.
Stop Talking, Start Doing (by Shaa Wasmund and Richard Newton) is dedicated to those people who need to be told, “Forget your doubts and your fears. Forget waiting for the right time or the right opportunity – just get on with it.”
As Richard Branson said, a journey of a thousand miles starts with that first step. If you want someone to give you the motivation to make that first step, have a look at this book.
